Alexander’s Highland Market kicks off its spring Pop-Up Farmers Market series on Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a crawfish boil, a few community non-profits, and five local farmers, including Rome Farm Tomatoes, Davis Farms fresh eggs and jellies, Ewing Farms Dairy’s goat milk, O’Neill’s Apiary Farm products, and J&D Blueberry Farms’ herbs, hibiscus tea, and repottable flowers and plants.

We’ll also be joined Junior League of Baton Rouge, our beneficiary for this month’s vendor fees, with its signature cookbooks and information about the many ways they make our community stronger.

In addition, Eat Fit BR nutritionists will be on hand sampling healthy food and dispensing healthy eating tips.

This signature event has become a community favorite, drawing hundreds of farm-to-table enthusiasts each spring and fall. “Big box stores and massive chains have lost their allure in a culture hungry for community and healthy food,” says owner Lathan Alexander. “Supporting local farmers and small food vendors is our mission. And why not have fun bringing it all together in a festive atmosphere?”
