Sunday May 3 Forecast: White Tents & Sunny Weather?
Posted on April 28th, 2015
Local produce, honey, coffee, jams, jellies, syrups, soaps, pottery, artwork and more will be available this Sunday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m., during our pop-up market. Pennington Biomedical Research Center will sample a healthy new recipe for “Watermelon Salad with Cucumber & Mint” from their test kitchen as well as distribute information about healthy eating. In addition, Alexander’s will offer outdoor grilled meals and face painting for children.
“Though we can’t promise anything, the forecast does look promising,” says president Lathan Alexander, who acknowledged that the last two markets were dampened by rain. “Whatever the weather, it’s always good to get the people who grow and make food together with the people who eat it.”
Vendors at Sunday’s market will also include Hanley’s Foods with their Strawberry Vinaigrette, Louisiana Gold honey, GrinningJupiter Jammery, Jeaux’s Boys, Cafeciteaux coffees, Ruth’s Hummus, Truly Scrumptious snack mixes, Andi Lynn’s Elderberry Syrup, Tres Bien Que sauces, Ivy’s Pride Tamales, Malco’s Magnificent Salsa, Eden Natural Soaps, Susan Rodrigue Pottery, and Carolyn Rodrigue beeswax art.
