Proceeds from the sale of original artwork done by children at Alexander’s Purple and Gold Paint Party raised $260 for the Community School for the Arts’ I Wanna Be An Artist scholarship fund. The fund helps young artists attend camps, classes and workshops offered by the Community School for the Arts and the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. The art show, held last night in Alexander’s cafe, followed the paint party, held on the first day of the Tigers’ 2013 football season Aug. 31.
About a dozen paintings remain on exhibit in the cafe. Anyone interested in purchasing one for $20 to benefit the Arts Council can ask for help at our Customer Service desk.
COMING SOON: Keep an eye out for a website and FaceBook posting about our next paint party for kids!
