Did you know that inflammation in the body is tied to a number of chronic conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and more? But did you also know that the foods we choose to eat play an important role in preventing or healing inflammation?
Join Cathy Carmichael and colleagues, registered dietitians with Pennington Biomedical Research Center, for a free nutrition class Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in our cafe as they discuss how foods impact our immune system, energy and metabolism and share healthy replacements for common inflammation-inducing foods. They’ll demonstrate preparation of chermoula dip as well as sample the healthy sauce/marinade made from the freshest ingredients.
The class will last one hour. The class is free, but we ask that you register so we can provide enough samples of food. Call 225.615.7800 or sign up on our website today.
