If you or a loved one has diabetes, you don’t want to hear a long list of things you can’t eat. And you won’t at Alexander’s free healthy eating class on Friday, Aug. 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in our cafe. Instead, Pennington Biomedical Research Center nutritionists will show you new ways to prepare lean proteins, whole grains, dairy, fruits and vegetables. You’ll sample pesto shrimp kebobs with quinoa pilaf, and the experts will simplify your shopping trips with easy tips for achieving a healthy balance while maintaining healthy blood sugar levels.
