Like a food court on wheels, a caravan of chefs will drive their food trucks into Alexander’s parking lot Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., bringing the revolution of curbside cuisine for the first time to our area. Stop by after work, after practice, or before getting groceries to sample the #BRWroundup: gourmet tacos and burritos by Taco de Paco; BBQ from Pullin’ Pork; Fleur de Licious rotisserie chicken sandwiches, salads, and cajun/creole meals; or The Mobile Muncher’s sandwiches, quesadillas. Desserts and snacks will also be available from Cupcake Allie or POPculture, makers of gourmet popsicles.

Baton Rouge Green’s Fall Tree-For-All sale and celebration, held earlier this month at the Burden Center, featured a recipe contest for foods made from trees that grow in Louisiana, and Alexander’s co-owner Lathan Alexander was among the judges.
NaNoWriMo, anyone? It’s shorthand for National Novel Writing Month, and it takes place every November across the country wherever writers live – which is to say just about everywhere. Alexander’s was thrilled to host a write-in last night for participants, writers who pulled tables together, pulled out their lap tops, and posted a “Novelists at Work” caution sign.
